Aberdare's initial error gave Rhiwbina an early lead as they scored a try in the corner, successfully converted. It was a frustrating start for Aberdare. The scoreboard read 7-0 in favour of Rhiwbina.

Aberdare, determined to make amends, responded swiftly with a try by Kian Carter, who powered over the line following a well-executed catch and driving maul. Jamie Richards' successful conversion levelled the score at 7-7.

Aberdare began to control the game but struggled to capitalise on their dominance due to handling errors and missed opportunities. They eventually took the lead with a penalty by Jamie Richards, making it 7-10.

Despite Aberdare's control, they allowed Rhiwbina to stay in the game, and Rhiwbina capitalised on Aberdare's errors, kicking a penalty to tie the score at 10-10.

Aberdare's second try came from excellent passing between the backs and forwards. Daniel Lewis was tackled just short of the line but managed to offload the ball to Rhys Shellard, who crossed for the try. Jamie Richards converted, putting Aberdare ahead 10-17.

Rhiwbina, however, managed to add three more points to their tally, and the first half concluded with a score of 13-17 in favour of Aberdare.

Aberdare started the second half with momentum, executing a driving line out that allowed Josh Bowditch to score, extending their lead to 13-22.

Despite their dominance, Aberdare's frustration grew as they failed to capitalise on numerous opportunities due to costly errors in the second half. Rhiwbina seized a chance to narrow the gap, kicking a penalty to make it 16-22 with only a couple of minutes remaining.

In the dying moments of the game, Rhiwbina had an opportunity to snatch victory by going to the corner 5 meters out and attempting a driving line out. However, Aberdare's defence held firm, and a turnover by Owen Young in the maul effectively ended the game.

Aberdare secured their first win in the league with this hard-fought victory, despite frustrations stemming from missed opportunities and errors throughout the match. They have plenty to work on ahead of their upcoming cup clash against Rhydyfelin but can also take away many positives from this intense encounter.
