Snakes End Season with Gritty Victory Over Barry

In what felt like an eternity since their last fixture, the Snakes ventured to Barry on a scorching Saturday afternoon, determined to cap off their season with another triumph, sealing their ticket to the championship in style.

The match kicked off with Jarrad Hippsley setting the pace, swiftly putting points on the board within two minutes, with Garyn Payne adding the extras.

Yet, the anticipated dominance failed to materialise. Barry clawed back, narrowing the gap with a penalty before seizing the lead with a converted try, much to the frustration of the Snakes.

But as halftime approached, the Snakes rallied. Morgan Biggins, ever the prolific scorer, notched his 9th try of the season, swiftly followed by Hippsley's second of the afternoon, bolstering the visitors' confidence.

With Payne's conversions, the halftime scoreboard favoured Aberdare at 10-19.

Barry, to their credit, maintaining their tenacity into the second half, swiftly reclaiming the lead with two rapid-fire tries, leaving the Snakes trailing at 20-19.

Frustration mounted, but the Snakes refused to falter. A tap penalty from second row Kieron Parry, deftly converted by Payne, swung the momentum back in Aberdare's favour at 20-26.

The final quarter dragged on, the Snakes relentlessly tested Barry's defence.

Yet, the home side held firm until the dying moments when club captain, seized an opportunity from the side of the ruck, securing Aberdare's fifth try. With Payne's conversion sealing the deal, the Snakes emerged victorious.

While not their most polished performance, the Snakes achieved their season-ending goal: a hard-fought win.

Congratulations to Second Row Adam Parry, marking his 100th senior appearance for the club against Barry.

As the senior squad savours a well-deserved break before preparations commence for their debut in the national Championship, celebrations are in order. On June 8th, the club will honour the season's success at the Annual Player of the Year dinner.
