Aberdare 38 - 0 Rhiwbina

In a thrilling display of rugby prowess, Aberdare Snakes dominated Rhiwbina in a spectacular match, securing a comprehensive 38-0 victory.

The home team showcased their attacking flair from the outset.

The opening salvo came from a scintillating counter-attack initiated by Rhys Price. Starting from their own 22, Price's explosive run drew in a defender before offloading to Morgan Biggins. Biggins, in turn, found Garyn Payne, who showcased his speed with a 50-meter dash to score in the corner. Despite an unsuccessful conversion, Aberdare Snakes took an early 5-0 lead.

The second try unfolded from a collapsed driving line out by Rhiwbina. With the penalty advantage, Garyn Payne received a pass from Rhys Price, executing a sublime angle to brush off defenders. Payne then popped the ball to Thomas Hopkins, who skilfully sidestepped the fullback to score under the posts. Payne's successful conversion extended the lead to 12-0.

Aberdare's third try showcased a well-executed driving maul, providing field position for an attacking move. Rhys Shellard's incisive angle from the ruck broke the Rhiwbina defence, leading to an offload for Kieron Parry to score. Garyn Payne's successful conversion at halftime left the score at 19-0.

A bonus point try followed, characterised by patient build-up play from the forwards. Thomas Hopkins, with deft playmaking, drew in the defence before offloading to Matthew Davies, who navigated a brilliant line to cross the try line. Payne's conversion, reminiscent of Dan Carter, pushed the lead to 26-0.

The fifth try resulted from a lineout, and Thomas Hopkins exploited space to break through. Offloading to prop Nathan Terry, who displayed surprising agility, Terry stepped the last defender to score. Garyn Payne's accurate conversion made it 33-0.

The coup de grâce was delivered in style, courtesy of a kick in-field by Thomas Hopkins. Rhiwbina's fumbled pass found its way to winger Morgan Biggins, who showcased footballing finesse by hacking the ball through and sliding over the line for the sixth and final try. The 38-0 scoreline affirmed Aberdare Snakes' dominance.

A comfortable win sets the stage for an eagerly anticipated local derby away to Abercwmboi, promising another exhilarating clash for the Snakes.
