Cambrian 10 - 6 Aberdare.

In a hard-fought battle between Cambrian and Aberdare, the young snakes made the journey to face the promotion-chasing Cambrian side, knowing well the challenge that awaited them.

The clash, typical of encounters between these two teams, proved to be a closely contested affair, with Cambrian ultimately emerging victorious with a scoreline of 10-6, in what was a clash between the 3rd and 2nd-placed teams in the league.

Aberdare's efforts were commendable, and they managed to secure a losing bonus point, a testament to their resilience and determination on the field.

Despite the disappointment of not securing a win, the snakes put in a great effort, particularly in the opening 40 minutes where they applied pressure and held a 0-6 lead courtesy of Garyn Payne's successful penalty kicks.

However, Cambrian fought back strongly towards the end of the first half, managing to breach Aberdare's defence and score a crucial try under the posts, converting it successfully to take the lead 7-6 at halftime.

The second half saw Aberdare making positive strides initially, but Cambrian gradually gained momentum, extending their lead to 10-6.

Both teams displayed tenacity in attack and defence, but neither side could add to their scoreline.

Despite Aberdare's efforts to break through Cambrian's defence in the closing stages, Cambrian held firm.

The game remained tense until the final whistle, with Aberdare attempting a desperate breakaway in the dying moments, only for Cambrian to deny them with a knock-on, ending the game.

Full-time score: Cambrian 10 - 6 Aberdare.

While Aberdare may feel they let an opportunity slip, credit must be given to Cambrian for their solid performance, positioning them favourably for promotion as league champions.

Looking ahead, Aberdare gears up for a crucial fixture against Barry, knowing a win could secure their well-deserved promotion.

With a week of training ahead, Aberdare aims to rectify their mistakes from the Cambrian game and approach the upcoming challenge with renewed determination.
