Snakes run riot against Porth

SEVEN HEAVEN FOR THE SNAKES

In a stunning display of dominance, Aberdare's young squad delivered a masterclass performance against Porth, securing a resounding victory of 49-14 on a grim Saturday afternoon. From the outset, it was clear the Snakes meant business.

Within just 6 minutes, Kian Stephens broke through Porth's defence, laying down the marker with a superb try, converted by Garyn Payne.

Ben Miller followed suit shortly after, capitalising on excellent team play to extend the lead to 14-0.

Miller, in scintillating form, bagged his second try by the 12th minute, further demoralising the home side.

Aberdare's relentless attack continued unabated as Mitchell Griffiths added to the tally, before Owen Young showcased his prowess with a spectacular try, leaving the hosts reeling at 35-0.

Porth, struggling to contain the onslaught, salvaged some pride with a try and conversion, but it was a mere blip as Miller completed his hat-trick just before halftime, pushing the score to a staggering 42-7.

The second half saw deteriorating weather conditions, yet Aberdare's defensive resilience remained unwavering. Despite conceding a penalty try, they swiftly reasserted control with Owen Young's second try, closing the game at 49-14.

Congratulations to Garyn Payne, who’s flawless kicking added to the triumph, reaching the 100-point milestone for the season.

The Snakes' electrifying first-half display epitomised their brand of free-flowing rugby, leaving spectators in awe. As they head into a break for the 6 Nations, attention turns to their upcoming clash with Abercynon, where redemption beckons following an earlier defeat.

With momentum firmly on their side, Aberdare's ambitions soar higher as they continue to defy expectations.
